THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MONEY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for some of us, even reading that sentence feels slightly uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because somewhere along the journey, many of us were taught to be suspicious of money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We heard things like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMoney is the root of all evil.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRich people are greedy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople who talk about money love money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust be content with what you have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And slowly, without realizing it, we began to associate lack with humility and abundance with greed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what if some of the financial limitations in our lives are not only about how much we earn?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if they are also connected to what we believe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because your mindset affects what you pursue, what you negotiate, what you charge, what you save, what you invest, what opportunities you recognize\u2014and even what you believe you are capable of building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is nothing inherently wrong with money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can feed a hungry child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can pay school fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can employ someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can build a business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can fund a missionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money can care for aging parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Money can buy books, build hospitals, support ministries, fund research, create jobs and give a family breathing room in the middle of a crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money is a tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The question is not simply, \u201cDo you have money?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deeper question is, \u201cWhat has your heart done with money?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible does not say that money is the root of all evil. It warns us about the love of money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil\u2026\u201d \u2014 1 Timothy 6:10<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That distinction matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can have little money and still worship it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can have much money and use it generously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is where mindset becomes important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If deep inside you believe that having money makes you less spiritual, you may unconsciously sabotage opportunities to prosper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you believe wealthy people must have done something wrong, how comfortable will you be becoming wealthy yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you believe asking to be paid fairly is greed, you may continually undervalue your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you believe money disappears as quickly as it comes, you may never learn to manage it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you believe, \u201cPeople like me never get ahead,\u201d you may stop seeing doors before they have even opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes we pray for financial increase while carrying beliefs that would make us uncomfortable if the increase actually arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And perhaps our prayer shouldn’t only be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGod, give me more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps it should also be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGod, teach me to think correctly about what You place in my hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to earn without worshipping money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to receive without guilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to save without fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to invest with wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to give without trying to impress anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to enjoy what You provide without becoming controlled by it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teach me to build something that can bless generations after me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because poverty is not proof of holiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And wealth is not proof of righteousness either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The real issue is the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money makes a terrible master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in the hands of a person with wisdom, character, discipline and generosity, money can become a powerful servant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So perhaps before we ask, \u201cHow can I make more money?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need to ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do I actually believe about money?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because sometimes your financial future begins changing long before your income changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It begins when your mind does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
